Multi-staging is particularly difficult in amateur high power rocketry. You are walking out to the pad carrying a rocket that has its own onboard power supply and ignitors, and is capable of firing its upper stage motors. The rocket must be handled with extreme care, with multiple safeties to insure accidental ignition doesn't occur. Then, with the rocket on the pad and pointing skyward, you must remember to arm all the safety switches!
